    Task Description: 

For this task, I read a article explaining a Tongan Tradition!.  This Tongan tradition is very common in Tonga.  The book explains how to make Ngatu.  Ngatu is a type of cloth that is made out bark.

What am I grateful for?.

I'm grateful for a lot of things.  i'm grateful for my beautiful Grand Parents who started this family.  I'm Grateful for my loving, caring, strong Parents.  My parents do everything they can for my brother and I.  I'm Grateful for the food my parents give us. I'm grateful for my besrfriend <3.  My bestfriend has been there for me ever since I started Pt England.  I'm grateful to have a roof over my head.  I'm grateful for God.  Without God, we wouldn't be on this planet.  God has helped us through everything and no matter what bad things you do, he will still love you.  I'm grateful for my culture, my identity.  I'm Grateful to be an pacific Islander.  I'm grateful for being who I am today :)

Ko Wai Au?

Task Description:

For this task I had to watch a video about Kahu kutia.  She was explaining things about her culture.  She didn't know whether she was Maori or Pakeha.  After I watched the video I had to answer some questions that were related to the video.  My favourite part about this task was decorating a little poster of what make me ME :).

Dear Future Me

Dear Future Me,



It’s 15 April 2020.  We are in lockdown at the moment.  New Zealand’s first case was confirmed on 28 of Feb.  That was the scariest thing.



New Zealand had 1,084 people infected, 770 recovered, and 9 people who had sadly passed away.



  I feel really good to be at home.  I get to sleep in longer, I can spend quality time with Mum and Dad, and, I can eat a lot :).



  New Zealand is doing a pretty good job on lockdown.  Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern is doing a great job at protecting New Zealand.  She might even extend the lockdown.



 I’m super lucky none of my family members are infected.  Everyone is doing just fine!



  It’s pretty hard getting food supplies and toiletries.  The cues at the supermarkets are very long.  You would have to wait a long period of time.  Mum always gets groceries.  She leaves the house once, or twice a week.



Online school is pretty hard.  At school you could just ask your teacher for help.  But online, you have to email.  I really do miss hanging out with my friends.  All we do is just video chat.



Everyday, I facetime my cousin and play with him on roblox!.  That’s the only thing that makes my day!.  As you know, Siu lives far away!.  The only way I can contact him is by facetime!.



I really miss my baby cousins.  Leylah and Lucas.  I don’t get to see them that much.  Lucas is getting real big, and I’m not there to see him grow up.  I really hope this lockdown ends sooner.  When this lockdown ends I’m gonna go see my family!.  I can’t wait to see my cousins!.  I have other cousins too.  Ngapera, Mira, and Kafu.  All of them are Siu’s siblings.  I really miss them but as you know, they live far away.



 At the moment, I’m not worried about anything!.  I’m just happy that my whole family is safe!.



I’ve learned to be more helpful towards my parents, and to work hard to whatever I want to achieve.  I see how hard my parents work to keep a roof over me and my brother's head.  I see how hard they work to give us food.  Nearly every day, Mum and Dad work hard to make sure we are not sick.  They keep us safe.  I have very hard working parents and I’ve learned to work hard in school.  Mum and Dad want us to work hard in school in order to get into the college we want.



I’m super thankful that none of us have the disease, and I’m super thankful for Mum and Dad taking care of us.



I love to talk to my cousin.  There is never a day we miss calling each other.  Early in the morning my cousin calls to play roblox.  He’s always busy but he makes sure he calls me.  That helps me A LOT.  Since it’s so boring at home, I get to talk to him every single day. :).



At the moment, I feel really bored and tired of staying home.  I hope this lockdown ends soon.







Task Description:  This is my writing to my future self.  I wrote a letter about what is happening in New Zealand at the moment.  I had to explain how I feel during quarantine.  This is a good experience for us who are not sick.  We now know how it feels for the people who have covid-19.  It must be really frustrating and boring for them to stay in a hospital.  Prayers go out to all the people infected.

Venn Diagram: Mata i pusi

Task Description:  For this assignment I read a book called "Mata i pusi" it means eyes of the cat.  I had to compare myself to a girl named named Si'aula.  Si'aula is the main person in the story.  She has cat eyes.  Her eyes are green.  The circle that has the yellow simely face belongs to me.  The other circle  belongs to Si'aula.  In the middle I have to put what me and Si'aula had in common.  In our own circles, we had to put what we didn't have in common.

Visual Mihi

Task Description: This is my Visual Mihi for 2020.  As you can see i like a lot of stuff.  I am apart of church.  I love to play games.  Fortnite, Roblox and Minecraft.  I play those games on xbox.  I used to have a ps3.  ( I know I said ps4.  I get mixed up with ours and my cousins).  (It wasn't mine, it was my Dad's.)  I don't play those games alone, I play it with my brother and cousins!!.  As you can I love my family!!.  My zodiac sign is Taurus.  My zodiac sign represents the month I was born.  As you can see I love to sing!!. Especially when i'm home Alone.  My Nationality is New Zealand.  I didn't have time to put a New Zealand flag in.  I also didn't get time to draw my face.  My two cultures are Samoan and Tongan.  My Mum is full Samoan, and my Dad is half Samoan, and half Tongan.  That makes me Half Samoan, and quarter Tongan.

Guy Fawkes!

Yesterday was Guy Fawkes!   November the 5th.   Guy Fawkes was the one who planned to explode  the parliament in England.   England actually calls it a "Bonfire".  Every year, The whole of England burns a scarecrow.  They dress the scarecrow to look like Guy Fawkes.   When that's all done they eventually burn it.   For some reason New Zealand celebrates it too.   But with fire works.  I had a very great night with my Family.  Here are some photos from yesterdays celebration.
